    Many post into one

    Happy Birthday to me!!!

So, Monday April 21 was my birthday. Today (which is when origionally started writing this which I think was Wed. the 23rd) I got in the mail the last part of my birthday present. The present which appeared in my mail box was an art book from the anime series "Fruit's Basket" now all I have to learn how to do is read Kanji/Japanese to find out the info that's given about the pictures!! See, the book hasn't be published in America so all the captions are in Japanese; also because it hasn't be published in America I'm fairly sure the only way to get it is to find it on e-bay...not that that has anything at all to do with reading Kanji. LOL

FORGET MEN IN TIGHTS, BEWARE THE FEMALE IN CAPRIS!!!!

Thursday afternoon (the 24th) I pulled out my bow and headed down to the archary range. At first I was the only one on the line, so I trotted down and pinned my target up and commenced to practice. I hit a little high and slightly to the left in case you're wondering...at any rate I go through my first small target and get a half way decent group, I do the second with the same results, then while working on my third target: first through third arrows, I hear the nice sound of the arrow sliding into the back stop, forth arrow I hear noise that deffently wasn't that of the arrow hitting the normal back stop. Ofcourse I start counting the number of fletchings I can see....3...where the hell did my fourth arrow go???? No way, I didn't did I??? After taking myself down to the back stop, there's the fourth arrow sticking quite nicely out the back of the third: ROBIN HOOD!!! After fixing myself up with two new arrows minus the tips, I start to work on the fourth small target. First shot, back stop the second shot sounded a bit odd, but hit the back stop. If I had been just a hair or two lower and just a wee bit more to the left, I would have done it AGAIN!!!!!! I desided to quit while I still had usable 4 of my 6 (8 if you count the two that are now stuck together) arrows in one pice.

    Hello loaner

I don't remember if I've ever mentioned this or not, but the screen in my laptop has been slowly dieing a painful (to me) death. It all started with one line running vertical along the screen, then two, then 6, 10, 15, 23, ect. ect. ect. until it was prety much impossiable to read. Then to add insult to injury on the right side, maybe 1 1/2 inches of screen started to flicker, then in the last couple of days, another 2 inches started flickering red. ENOUGH!! Between that and the DVD burnner not wanting to work it became time to take it to Fry's. The downside is when this all first started and I had between 4 and 10 lines in it, I took it in and asked about it. They told me it could be fixed, but would take at least 6 - 8 weeks because they couldn't fix it there it would have to be shipped off and fixed. There's a pluss, I got the extened warentee and because of that, not only was my laptop still covered but I get the use of a loaner laptop while mine's away. No where NEAR as hi-tech, (in some ways it's a step down because of Vistas) but it keeps me typeing!!!! (Pictures of the Robin Hood arrows will be posted when I get my computer back...maybe sooner as I explore the features on this laptop.)

    Busy weekend

Well, lastweekend was the 2008 virson of the MS 150 bike ride from Houston to Austin.  This year, I rode in Med. Transport. 1, a 15 passanger van ment to transport  non-life threating injurys to (usually) La Grange MASH or to the MASH at the finishline in Austin.  Normally I might complain about a slow and boreing weekend, but given the fact that I was in a med unit, I won't.  I'm not saying the weekend was accident free by any strech of the imagination, there were several transfers to the ER via ambulance and a couple of lifeflights.

The ride itself had GREAT weather, cool temps, clear sky, NO FOG, the only downside was after a supposad four years of tail wind, the poor riders had a head wind 90%+ of the way there and between that and the cool temps we had many riders drop from dehidration.

The bluebonnets were not as plentaful this year as last,  but the indian paint brushes were beautiful.

    Final Days

Friday Nov. 16, 2007; Between Cozumel and Galveston:

The cold front that gave me such beautful sunsets the day befor gave way to 7 to 12 ft seas. Consiquently I, who had taken off her sea sick patch the day befor and didn't put a new one on, was sick as a dog all day. I did nothing but sleep and try to recover my stomic and my head. I did feel well enough to take more sunset pictures that evening.

Saturday Nov. 17, 2007; Galveston, Tx

Home at last!!!! Get off the boat, pick up our stuff, meet up with Pappa who was pickin' us up from the dock and head home!!! A great week, can't wait to do it again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
