March 23 ...On board this (not so) tiny Ship.Thursday Nov. 15, 2007: Cozumel, Mexico
After being stalked through the night by Fanticy, we pull into dock about 8am. For me there's not a lot of time to sit back and sight see just yet, I've got a shore excursion to go to! After meeting with the rest of the group that was going, we were put in shuttle vans and taken to a spot for clear bottom kayaking and snorkling. It was fun, but a little disipointing. There were not a lot of reefs in the area we were in and the so therefor the fish life was not plentaful. No matter how you cut it, it was still great fun, but I wouldn't go back to that one if I had the chance.
After depositing my suit back in my room, I ran back out for a little bit of shopping and take a few pictures. Sadly though I don't have many pictures to show for this day as the ones i took snorkling are on 35mm film. Shortly after reporting back to the boat, we left port and set sail for home, and thanks to some cloud cover that was coming in advance of a front, I do have some awesome sunset pictures.
Sunday, March 23, 2008; Spring, Texas; 6:30am: A two for one deal
For the last 12 days, 16 hours, and counting we've had a bit of science history hapning. Yesterday a record 5th space walk was made while the ISS and Space Shuttle were working in tandam. When the Shuttle lands Wednesday, a record 15 days will have been spent in orbit by the shuttle. This was a morning for feeding my love of space flight. Thanks to the Human Space Flight - Orbital Tracking Webpage I found out that the last 3 days and many of the upcoming days are firtal ground for seeing the ISS/Shuttle and the Automated Transfer Vehical (ATV) in the night or early morning sky.
After a failed attempt yesterday morning thanks to cloud cover, Mom and I went out again this morning in search of a sighting. A small fast travling light in the early morning sky...no flashing lights, there it is!! or is it? Apparently we caught a glimps of a satalite orbiting around. A min. later, we see a much larger, brighter, and equally fast moving light in the morning sky with no flashing lights ...no...THERE IT IS!!!!
Happy Easter!!
